CS42L45 Overview
The Cirrus Logic CS42L45 is a low-power, high-performance audio codec for portable applications, integrating a MIPI SoundWire v1.2.1 interface with SDCA v1.0 support, I²C control, and a configurable I²S/TDM audio serial port. It combines a stereo headphone DAC with Class G amplification, two ADCs for wired-headset microphone or stereo line input, and two PDM ports supporting up to four digital microphones.
The device provides an IEC-60958-3-compatible stereo S/PDIF transmitter, assignable sample-rate converters, digital mixers, volume and mute controls, selectable capture-path filters, and a stereo three-band 32-bit parametric equalizer. Headset functions include integrated mic bias, OMTP/CTIA type detection, button detection compatible with the Android Wired Headset Specification v1.1, plug insertion/removal detection, and headphone-load detection.
It is available in a commercial-grade 42-ball WLCSP for −40 °C to +85 °C operation.
