The CS42324/25 are highly integrated multi-channel audio codecs. The CS42325 is a footprint compatible option with a sterio headphone driver. Through very high levels of feature integration, including stereo analog-to-digital conversion and up to four channels of digital-to-analog conversion, the CS42324/25 codecs have greatly simplified the audio system design challenges through flexible signal routing within flat-panel televisions and DVD recorders.
The CS42324/25 family includes an input and output multiplexer, line-level input buffers and output drivers, and the ability to run the ADC and DAC's at asynchronous sample rates. On the analog front-end , its 5:1 stereo input multiplexer allows for the selected audio source signal to be passed through either a data converter or to the output drivers directly. The CS42324/25 accepts line-level inputs up to 2Vrms, and there are six 2Vrms output drivers which can be driven by either of the stereo D/A converter or by the inputs directly. Each output channel utilizes Cirrus Logic's patented Popguard® technology that minimizes the effects of output transients commonly associated with single-ended,single-supply converters.
