The CS42432 is a highly integrated CODEC engineered to simplify design for home theaters and automotive audio systems. This CODEC allows system designers to deliver advanced multichannel surround-sound performance for entry- and mid-level audio products.

The CS42432 includes four single-ended or differential inputs and six single-ended or differential outputs. An auxiliary serial input is available for an additional two channels of PCM (pulse code modulation) data.

The CS42432 features six digital-to-analog (D/A) converters. These D/A converters offer 24-bit conversion, with support for sample rates up to 192 kHz, and provide a dynamic range of up to 108 dB. Each D/A converter channel provides digital volume control and can operate with differential or single-ended outputs.

There are four 24-bit A/D converters, which also support sample rates up to 192 kHz and provide a dynamic range of up to 105 dB. Digital volume control is provided for each A/D converter, with selectable overflow detection.

All of the on-chip converters utilize multi-bit Delta-Sigma modulators to lower out-of-band noise and improve performance. Also included are separate control port and serial port supplies for a glueless interface to DSPs.

The CS42432 includes a TDM-only serial port.

The CS42432 delivers advanced performance, design flexibility, a reduction in BOM costs and competitive price-points. This device is ideal for audio applications such as A/V receivers, DVD receivers and automotive audio systems as well as applications that require wide dynamic range, negligible distortion and low noise.
