AUSTIN, Texas – March 8, 2004 – Cirrus Logic Inc. (Nasdaq: CRUS) today announced that it has named John T. Kurtzweil as senior vice president and chief financial officer effective March 15, 2004. Kurtzweil will be responsible for the accounting, budgeting, financial planning and analysis, investor relations, tax and treasury functions.

Kurtzweil, 47, brings more than 25 years of corporate financial management experience to Cirrus Logic, including public company CFO experience with ON Semiconductor Corporation, a global supplier of power and data management semiconductors and standard semiconductor components with FY2002 revenues of $1.08 billion, and disk drive component manufacturer Read-Rite Corp., which sold substantially all of its assets to Western Digital Corp. in 2003. Prior to joining Cirrus Logic, Kurtzweil most recently served as interim CFO at Quepasa Corp., an online company serving the growing U.S. Hispanic community. Kurtzweil also held senior finance roles at Maxtor Corp. and Honeywell Inc.

Kurtzweil, a CPA and certified management accountant, earned his degree in accounting from Arizona State University and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minn.
