(Nasdaq: CRUS), today announced that the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has recognized its CS7410 Music Processor and USB-DVR 2.0 Reference Design Chipset as honorees in the Innovations 2003 Design and Engineering Program. In addition, the association has included Cirrus’ EP7312-90 Processor on the prestigious list of Best of Innovations winners, which consists of the most highly honored products in all facets of the consumer technology industry.

Presented in conjunction with the International Consumer Electronics Show, the Innovations 2003 competition recognizes excellence in the design of leading-edge consumer electronics technologies. The Innovations program is endorsed by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) and is the most widely renowned technology awards program in consumer electronics.

All three Cirrus products were submitted in the Software/Embedded Technologies product category and judged by a panel of prominent industry designers, engineers and journalists.

• The EP7312-90 Processor: one of the world’s fastest ARM-720T embedded microprocessors, which enables manufacturers to inexpensively develop portable and line-powered music players that can record MP3 content while playing. The EP7312-90 paves the way for new categories of digital entertainment devices such as portable MP3 players that record without the need for a computer, as well as compressed audio jukeboxes that inexpensively encode data without a PC.
• The CS7410 Music Processor: a hardware/software solution optimized for CD-based audio systems including portable CD players, boom boxes and bookshelf audio mini-systems. The CS7410 allows consumer electronics manufacturers to create portable audio players that retail at sub-$50 consumer price points and offer almost a full day of compressed digital music per CD.
• The USB-DVR 2.0 Reference Design Chipset: a third-generation digital video recording reference design. The kit enables PC manufacturers to quickly bring to market USB 2.0-based peripherals that make it easy for consumers to record audio and video content in real-time from any analog and/or digital (DV) source, encode it into MPEG2 format, store it on a PC for editing and finally archive it onto DVD-Recordable media for playback in DVD-Video players or DVD-ROM drives.

All three Cirrus products will be exhibited during the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show in Innovations Booth #55083 at the Las Vegas Hilton. Additionally, the EP7312-90 will be on display in the Best of Innovations kiosk in the Grand Lobby of the Las Vegas Hilton, January 9-12, 2003. Cirrus will also participate in the CEA-sponsored Innovations Press/Analyst Preview Reception and Open House on Wednesday, January 8, 2003, from 1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. at the Las Vegas Hilton.
