TOKYO, Japan - February 15, 2002 - Cirrus Logic (Nasdaq: CRUS) today announced the appointment of Mr. Toshio Kurihara as new president of Cirrus Logic K.K., located at Aioi Sonpo Building 6F, 5-6 Niban-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Japan.
Mr. Kurihara has 29 years of industry experience. Mr. Kurihara assumed his new duties as of January 21, 2002, succeeding acting president, Terry M. Leeder, who will return to his main duties as Vice President of Worldwide Sales, based at Cirrus Logic’s corporate headquarters in Austin, TX.

Mr. Kurihara previously held various positions at major semiconductor manufacturing corporations including Texas Instruments Japan Limited, National Semiconductor Japan Ltd., Zilog Japan K.K. and Intel K.K.. With a 29-year career in the semiconductor industry, Mr. Kurihara aims to strengthen the company’s sales performance in Japan. Mr. Kurihara holds both a doctorate and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University. He also completed a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Chuo University in Tokyo, Japan.
