Cirrus Logic today announced that Intel selected Cirrus Logic to provide six-channel multimedia sound capabilities for its concept PC, code named Hannacroix. The Hannacroix concept PC is a showcase motherboard designed to demonstrate next generation functionality for the PC of the future.

The Hannacroix concept PC features Cirrus Logic’s six-channel AC ’97 audio on its motherboard utilizing the CS4201 AC ’97 codec chip and two CS4334 digital-to-analog converters. The Cirrus Logic AC ’97 soft audio solution includes Sensaura™ 3-D audio technology and surround sound capability to enhance the audio experience for multimedia gaming and DVD playback using any of the popular soft DVD playback applications.

The Hannacroix concept PC illustrates Intel’s ability to integrate future technologies seamlessly onto a single platform.
