Cirrus Logic, Inc. is looking for an experienced Intellectual Property attorney to provide advice and counsel to clients at all levels of management on a variety of complex IP-related matters.  This role will be involved in formulating and driving IP strategies; identifying patentable subject matter; prosecuting patent applications and managing outside prosecution counsel; drafting research and licensing agreements; conducting due diligence in support of licensing and intellectual property acquisitions; and providing intellectual property litigation support.

Basic Qualifications:

As a mixed-signal audio Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the Marketing Requirements Document and developing the detailed Design and Test Specifications for new low power mixed-signal data converter ICs for portable audio applications. You will work closely with Cirrus Logic customers and our internal design, applications, validation, marketing, and product-test organizations. 
 
Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Tier 1 customers and our Marketing and Design Engineering teams to define system and performance requirements, feature set, and architecture definition for complex IC designs involving digital audio converters (ADC/DAC) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
• Consider all product requirements such as customers' requirements, digital/analog process technologies, packaging options, design/system constraints and trades-offs and propose viable solutions.
• Communicate ideas and specifications to technical audiences (internal and external customers).
• Author, review, and update design specifications (datasheets) and Validation test plans.  
• Participate in architecture reviews, IC-level design reviews and board-level design reviews with design engineering, applications, validation and product test engineers.
• Perform thorough competitive analysis and participate in industry conferences and forums to ensure device compatibility with adopted standards.
• Travel approximately 2 – 5 weeks per year, both domestically and abroad, to interface directly with our customers.
• Autonomously manage competing customer- and project-related priorities.

Assists experienced engineers with functional verification of mixed-signal audio CODECs. Detailed responsibilities include but are not limited to helping with: verification planning, testbench development, failure analysis and resolution, coverage analysis and population, digital/mixed-signal modeling, directed/constraint-random test generation, and flow development. Candidates must work closely with digital/analog designers, applications engineers and manufacturing test to support both pre-silicon verification and post silicon validation efforts.

Skills/Experience

The Failure Analysis Engineer will perform device level FA to support production yield, customer RMA and design issues. The functions include performing electrical fault isolation and device analysis on mixed signal IC’s to identify root cause failure mode. Responsibilities include providing technical reports of the findings from product failure investigations.
 
Skills & Experience:  BSEE or equivalent discipline is required. Minimum 4 years of experience in failure analysis of IC devices. Hands on experience of electrical fault isolation, defect characterization tools and techniques such as ATE test conversion, parametric curve tracing, micro probing, light emission analysis, LSM, XRAY, FIB, SEM. In depth knowledge of interpreting ATE datalogs, digital and analog circuits, device physics, IC fabrication process, interpret IC level schematics and layouts and good technical writing skills.
