Duties include customer visits to research system and performance requirements, feature set and architecture definition, and documenting detailed requirements for complex IC designs involving digital audio converters (ADC/DAC) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP). Candidate will also perform thorough competitive analysis and participate in industry conferences and forums to ensure device compatibility with adopted standards. Write detailed specifications for IC designs and coordinate with customers and IC designers to ensure system requirements are accurately implemented.
 
Required Skills:
-          BS / MS in Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years experience in architecting, specifying and designing low power, mixed signal components with an integrated circuit provider for portable electronics such as Smart Phones, Tablets, Portable Audio Players, PDAs, Personal Media Players, Digital Cameras or Camcorders.
-          Ability to consider all product requirements such as customers' requirements, digital/analog process technologies, packaging options, design/system constraints and trades-offs and propose viable solutions.

Individual contributor position responsible for product and test aspects of mixed signal ICs. Responsibilities include prototype sample generation, yield enhancement, characterization, qualification, test development, cost reduction, customer returns, and release to offshore test contractors. Candidates will create test software programs and design test hardware for a variety of Automated Test Equipment platforms. Coordination with other functions within the company is a key element of this job.

The Apex Precision Power Division of Cirrus Logic is currently seeking highly skilled Analog Design Engineers to join our Tucson, AZ design team developing our next generation of precision high power analog hybrid microcircuits and discrete modules. In this position you will be a key individual contributor with project lead responsibility, will be involved in all aspects of the design cycle from concept through release to production, and will participate in the product definition process with marketing and customers.
 
To qualify for this position you must possess a BSEE and proven experience taking hybrid microcircuit and discrete product design projects for high power applications such as power amplifiers, motor drivers and voltage references from concept to mass production. You must have knowledge of thick film hybrid circuit technology. An understanding of the hybrid assembly and packaging process is necessary to design and supervise the layout of manufacturable hybrid microcircuits. Experience with standard design, simulation and layout tools is required.  Experience with Microcap simulation tools preferred.

Cirrus Logic's Mixed Signal Audio Verification/Validation Engineering team is looking for a Validation Engineer who will be responsible for validating functionality and characterizing high performance mixed-signal analog converters, Class D digital power amplifiers and digital interface products using automated test procedures.
 
Responsibilities:
- Work with the IC Design Engineers and Applications Engineering to determine requirements for device post-silicon validation. Defines, develops, and/or acquires software and/or hardware tools in support of silicon validation efforts.
- Responsible for the development and execution of validation test plans, designing test boards, writing automation test scripts and putting together system configurations. Develops state of the art evaluation methodologies to assure Zero Defects.
- Assists Design Engineers with the characterization and functional testing to determine root cause failure analysis and resolving silicon issues using logic analyzers, audio performance analyzers, and oscilloscopes. Candidate will provide qualification and characterization data to Product Test Engineering.
- Accurately reports all test failures using software tracking tools.
Qualifications:
- BS / MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering. At least 3 years of experience in post-silicon validation.
- Experience developing a test environment and executing test plans against system level specifications. Hands-on lab/debug experience with audio performance evaluation, measurement and debug is mandatory. Use of lab equipment such as audio and logic analyzers, DMMs and oscilloscopes is a must.
- Experience with schematic capture design tools, scripting languages such as PERL and Matlab experience is highly desired.
- Good basic electrical engineering knowledge in analog, digital and power electronics and audio engineering (Analog and Digital) experience are essential.

You will participate in all aspects of the design–architectural development; transistor level design and circuit simulation; layout supervision for the analog subsections for your project; simulation of the IC from transistor level to systems level and lab validation.

Technical Qualifications
You must be able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of general analog integrated circuit design with emphasis on data converters and supporting circuitry. You must also possess, skills in switched capacitor circuit design, PLL design and low noise amplifier design. You should also have background and understanding of noise analysis, DSP, basic logic design skills, and prior experience with SPICE, LVS and DRC tools.
